TOPIC: The Reward Of Hard Work (Open Heaven for Teens, 13 February 2026)
MEMORISE: In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23
BIBLE READING: Ecclesiastes 9:10-12
10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
12 For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.
MESSAGE:
Today’s Bible reading explains that time is fleeting and we must make the most of every opportunity by giving our best in all we do. Many teenagers dream of success and often talk about their ambitions; they confess them in faith and pray earnestly. However, without hard work, those dreams will remain unfulfilled. Confession and prayer must be accompanied by hard work to yield tangible results.

The reward of hard work goes beyond material wealth; it builds character, sharpens skills, and creates opportunities for greater achievements. Diligent people not only gain external success; they also gain inner satisfaction from knowing that they have done their best.
My dear child, whatever task you find yourself doing, whether in academics, learning a skill, or serving others, please do it wholeheartedly, as if you’re working for God Himself. He sees your efforts and values your diligence, and He will reward you at the right time.Inspirational quotes book
KEY POINT:
God rewards hard work.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Matthew 27:1-31, Leviticus 15-17
HYMN 4: Revive Thy Work, O Lord
1 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
and make Thy people hear.
Refrain:
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
while here to Thee we bow;
descend, O gracious Lord, descend!
O come and bless us now.
2 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
now let us thirst for Thee;
and hung’ring for the bread of life
may all our spirits be. [Refrain]
3 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
exalt Thy precious name;
and, by the Holy Ghost, our love
for Thee and Thine inflame. [Refrain]
4 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
give pow’r unto Thy word;
grant that Thy blessed gospel may
in living faith be heard. [Refrain]

the glory shall be all Thine own,
the blessing, Lord, be ours. [Refrain]

MEMORISE: So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 29:1-9Inspirational quotes book
1 Furthermore, David the king said unto all the congregation, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.
2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
4 Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses withal:
5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?
6 Then the chief of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king’s work, offered willingly,
7 And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.
8 And they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
MESSAGE:
God desires that our giving should be a pan act of joy rather than a burdensome duty. Generosity should flow from a heart that is willing and cheerful, not from a sense of compulsion or external pressure. In today’s Bible reading, we see how the Israelites gave willingly towards the construction of God’s temple. They gave from a loyal heart with joy and rejoiced in the name of the Lord.Inspirational quotes book
Cheerful giving is not measured by the amount or quantity of what was given, but by the sincerity and joy behind it. Jesus highlighted this truth when He commended the widow who gave two mites (small copper coins with little value). Although her offering was of little value, it was priceless in God’s sight because she gave wholeheartedly (Luke 21:2-3). This shows that the attitude behind your giving matters more than the size of your gift.
To develop a heart of cheerful giving, you need to realise that giving is a privilege and not an obligation. This will make you seek opportunities to be a blessing to others by giving your time, resources, talents, and more. When you give with joy and trust in God’s purpose, your gift becomes a source of blessings to you and the receiver.
ACTION POINT:
Identify someone in your school or church who needs a particular item within your reach and provide it.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Matthew 23:23-39, Exodus 37-38
HYMN 19: Be Glad In The Lord And Rejoice
1 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.
Refrain:
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
2 What though in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.
3 Though darkness surrounds you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.
4 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
Acclaim him with trumpet and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong.
