Topic: Talk Like God!

Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  – Mark 11:23

Jesus didn’t say, “Whosoever shall speak to God about this mountain.” He said we should speak directly to the mountain the desired end result.

From a worldly point of view, that sounds foolish. But 1 Corinthians 1:27 explains that God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. It’s always going to soun d foolish to the world when a Christian talks as if what God has promised is reality, especially when those promises seem to contradict the natural evidence around us. But if you want to keep the enemy defeated, that’s the kind of talking you’d better be doing.

The Bible says God Himself talks that way! In Romans 4:17, it says, “[He] calleth those things which be not as though they were.” God doesn’t wait for circumstances to line up before He speaks. He causes them to line up because He speaks. You can do the same thing if you’ll make your words agree with His and speak them out of your mouth by faith.

“But what if nothing happens right away?” you may ask. “What if the circumstances don’t immediately change?” When Jesus spoke to the fig tree in Mark 11:14, He didn’t go back and check to see if anything had happened to it. No, once He had spoken it, He considered it done.

Follow His example. Let your faith speak. Agree with God’s Word!

SCRIPTURE: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. Hebrews 12:15

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Bitterness is one trap the enemy uses to take the children of God to hell fire.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Bitterness is a major temptation or challenge in the journey of life. It takes only the Grace of God to overcome the temptation of bitterness. Bitterness is one trap the enemy uses to take the children of God to hell fire.

The truth is that everyone has been bitter or nursed bitterness at one point or the other. It takes the grace of God to escape from the trap of bitterness.

Now, what is bitterness?

i. According to the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, bitterness is the feeling or showing of anger, hurt or resentment because of a bad experience or a sense of unjust treatment.

It is the anger, hurt, or resentment in you that comes as a result of the bad experience you had.

ii. I define bitterness as a combination of the attitude of unforgiveness and a deep feeling of displeasure at wrong deeds. You are bitter when you have not forgiven someone, when you are deeply displeased with them because of what they did to you.

Now, one root of bitterness is unforgiveness from wrong deeds or wickedness.

When you experience wrong deeds or acts of wickedness from someone, bitterness is triggered.

You see, you must understand that as long as you live in this world, offences must come. If you are alive on earth, you will definitely be offended.

Many times, it is a deliberate attempt of the enemy to decrease the quality of your life on earth. The devil will deliberately plant offences around you.

Matthew 18:7 says,

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Beloved, my counsel is, ask God for the grace to overcome offences. Refuse to allow offences control your life. Make up your mind to forgive people even before their offences.

Remember this: Bitterness is one trap the enemy uses to take the children of God to hell fire.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Ask God for the grace to overcome the temptation of bitterness and offences.

Refuse to carry any offence in your heart.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I receive Your Help to overcome every temptation of bitterness and offence, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
