TOPIC: Stick With The Gospel (TREM Devotional 10 January 2026)

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)

MESSAGE

Beloved, many believers struggle with their Christian walk. You love God with all your heart, yet you feel like you are constantly pursuing without ever arriving. When will you arrive? The truth is, your struggle often comes from the wrong kind of pursuit.

Jesus did not call us to struggle; He called us to rest. Consider the Message translation of Matthew 11:28-29: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me, watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.” (MSG)

Jesus invites us, “Get away with me, and you will recover your life.” Christianity is meant to be a position of rest, free from constant struggle, stress, and anxiety. Beloved, allow Jesus to teach you the unforced rhythms of His grace. Let Him show you how to experience true rest.

To experience this rest, we must remain steadfast in the gospel. Paul reminds us: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” – Romans 1:16 (KJV)

The gospel is one-size-fits-all. Everything we need for life and godliness is in the gospel. That is why we are called to preach the full gospel, not just parts of it, and certainly not to monetize it. The power is not in wealth, programs, or methods, but in Christ and His finished work.

When we stick with the gospel, we stick with Christ Himself. His death, burial, and resurrection. Paul said: “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” – 1 Corinthians 2:2 (KJV)

True rest comes from focusing on Jesus, learning from Him, and walking in the fullness of His grace. Let go of religious striving, and embrace the life Christ paid the ultimate price to give you.
