Open Heaven For Teens 22 August 2025 – Avoid Appearances Of Evil

MEMORISE: Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. Isaiah 7:15

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 7:14-16

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

MESSAGE:

What a fellow eats is very important because food is essential for growth and development. Nutritionists have proven that when a child suffers from malnutrition, his or her brain will function below the standard capacity for his or her age. The elders in my culture usually say, "The height a bird attains is a result of what it feeds on." In the same vein, a malnourished Christian cannot function in his or her divine capacity, and as a result, he or she might make poor and unsafe choices in life.

Today's memory verse tells us about the relationship between food and the choices a fellow makes. The spiritual significance of butter and honey is abundance and prosperity, which can be obtained from God's word. When you feed on God's word, you will be able to make good choices that will bring prosperity, abundance, and strength to your life.

My dear child, how much time do you dedicate to feeding on God's word? I want you to be as concerned about your spiritual diet as you are about your physical diet.

KEY POINT:

Be mindful of your physical and spiritual diet.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

Job 8:1-11:20 1 Corinthians 15:1-28

HYMN: 60 -MOST ANCIENT OF ALL MYSTERIES

1 Most ancient of all mysteries,

Before Thy throne we lie;

Have mercy now, most merciful,

Most holy Trinity.

2 When heav'n and earth were yet unmade,

When time was yet unknown,

Thou in Thy bliss and majesty

Didst live and love alone.

3 Thou wert not born; there was no fount

From which Thy Being flowed;

There is no end which Thou canst reach;

But Thou art simply God.

4 How wonderful creation is,

The work which Thou didst bless,

And O what then must Thou be like,

Eternal loveliness!

5  0 listen then, most pitiful,

To Thy poor creature's heart:

It blesses Thee that Thou art God,

That Thou art what Thou art.

6 Most ancient of all mysteries,

Still at thy throne we lie;

Have mercy now, most merciful,

Most holy Trinity.
