BIBLE READING: Galatians 6:7-9
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
MESSAGE:
The Bible says that God gives bread to the eater and seed to the sower (2 Corinthians 9:10), which implies that whenever He provides for you, He expects you to sow or give part of what He has provided for you and eat the remaining.
Some time ago, my wife prepared my favourite meal pounded yam and chicken. Just as I was about to eat, a group of friends arrived, and they were hungry. They went straight to the dining table and finished all the food. Though I grumbled a bit, there was really nothing I could do. Shortly after, I left for a conference in Kenya, and to my surprise, I had no reason to spend my money on food throughout my stay because l got many invitations to breakfast, lunch, and dinner in people’s homes. Therefore, I can say that my seed of pounded yam brought me an abundant harvest of buffets.
My dear child, you too can begin to enjoy God’s blessings from now on when you make it a habit to give to others. Sow good seeds through your behaviour, actions, and material resources so that your blessings will multiply.
KEY POINT:
Consistent givers will never lack.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Kings 2:1-3:2, Acts 5:1-42
HYMN 4: Be Glad In The Lord And Rejoice
1 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.
Refrain:
Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
2 Be joyful, for He is the Lord,
On earth and in heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules by His word;
The Mighty and strong to redeem
3 What though in the conffict for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.
4 Though darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.
5 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
With harp, and with organ and voice
The loud hallelujahs prolong!
